TV Wall Mounting in Toowoomba — What It Costs and What to Expect
If you’ve got a new TV sitting on a cabinet and you’d rather have it on the wall, you’re not alone. Wall mounting is one of the most common jobs we do across Toowoomba and it’s something most people put off longer than they should because they’re not sure what’s involved or what it’s going to cost.
Here’s a straight answer to both.
What Does TV Wall Mounting Cost in Toowoomba?
Our TV wall mounting service starts from $395 and goes up to $695 depending on the size of your TV, the wall type, and the level of cable management involved. Every job is quoted upfront so there are no surprises on the day.
What Affects the Price?
TV size — larger TVs need heavier duty mounts and sometimes two people to lift safely. A 65 inch or above will sit toward the higher end of the range.
Wall type — plasterboard is the most straightforward. Brick, concrete and VJ panel walls take more time and require different anchoring. We handle all of them.
Cable management — if you want cables hidden inside the wall so nothing is visible, that’s a more involved job than running cables through trunking on the surface. Both options look clean, the in-wall option just looks cleaner.
Mount type — a fixed flat mount sits closest to the wall. A tilting mount lets you angle the screen down. A full motion articulating arm swings out and gives you maximum flexibility. We supply and fit all three.
What Actually Happens on the Day
We use thermal imaging to see inside your walls before anything goes up — so we can avoid internal wiring or plumbing and anchor the mount to the most stable points. This is something DIY installs skip entirely and it’s one of the main reasons professional mounting is worth doing properly.
Once the wall is assessed we confirm with you exactly where the TV is going. Getting the height right matters — too high and you’re craning your neck, too low and it defeats the purpose. Once that’s confirmed we fit the wall plate, run the cables, hang the TV and make sure everything is level and secure before we leave.
Most standard wall mount jobs take between 45 minutes and two hours depending on the wall type and cable setup.
Can You Hide the Cables?
Yes. There are two ways to do it.
In-wall cable concealment — we cut into the plasterboard, run the cables through the wall cavity and patch it up cleanly. This gives you a completely cable-free look and is the option most people prefer when they want it to look like it came with the house.
Surface cable management — we use matching trunking that sits flat against the wall and can be painted to blend in. It’s tidy and works well in situations where in-wall isn’t practical, like brick walls or rental properties.
Do You Need to Supply the Mount?
No — we supply the mount as part of the job. If you’ve already bought one that’s fine too, we’ll use yours. Just let us know when you book. If you’re not sure which type suits your space we’ll recommend the right one when we assess the wall.
What Wall Types Can You Mount On?
We mount on all common wall types found in Toowoomba homes — plasterboard, brick, double brick, concrete and VJ panel. Each requires a different approach but none of them are a problem for our team.
We Also Handle the Full Setup
We don’t just mount the TV and leave. We connect all your devices, set up streaming apps, tune your channels and make sure the picture is calibrated for your room’s lighting before we’re done. If you need a sound system connected or a home theatre setup completed we can handle that on the same visit.
If your antenna needs attention while we’re there we can look at that too — saves you booking a second job.
We can even collect your new TV from the retailer and deliver it to your home if needed. Just ask when you book.
Is It Worth Doing Professionally?
A TV coming off the wall is not a minor problem. Beyond the cost of replacing the TV itself, the liability and the stress of it happening in a household with kids makes professional mounting worth the cost every time. We also see a lot of DIY jobs where the TV has been mounted into plasterboard without hitting a stud. It holds for a while and then it doesn’t. If you’re not certain you’re in a stud, get someone who is.
